March 5, 2010 to May 23, 2010
This exhibition considers how nature and landscape continue to preoccupy contemporary painters. Not nature based on observation, however, but a realm of vivid imaginary landscapes, creatures both natural and unnatural, and humans who seem to emerge like wood sprites from the forest. The ‘wild’ here is found in the mind of the artists.
Wilderness brings together 14 of Australia’s best contemporary painters, including Del Kathryn Barton, Daniel Boyd, Tony Clark, Louise Hearman, Mary Scott, Fiona Lowry and Michael Zavros.
February 6, 2010 to March 27, 2010
Launching on the 6th of February and running over the next seven weeks, Five NSW-based designers will feature in Object Gallery’s exciting new STATE. RESPOND exhibition.
The designers were invited to respond to a statement addressing the challenges of sustainability in design. These responses have been translated into physical installations that are displayed within the gallery space.
