Australian writers are invited to give voice to the most vulnerable amongst us in a new writing prize established by Voiceless, the animal protection institute.

The Voiceless Writing Prize sponsored by Australian Ethical Investment is one of the most lucrative short story and non-fiction competitions in Australia, awarding a total prize pool of over $20,000.

The Prize is designed to advance public understanding of animal sentience, human – animal relationships and the ethical treatment of animals.

Green Screen are seeking film submissions of between 30 seconds and 5 minutes that effectively communicate positive messages about a zero or low carbon, clean energy future. You may choose any genre or style that you like and we encourage participants to push creative boundaries and think outside the square. Entry is now open for the SCOPE Galleries Art Award 2012 – Art Concerning Environment. A non-acquisitive Award, prize money of $5,000 will be awarded to one finalist.

Mr Guy Abrahams, co-founder of CLIMARTE and former Director of Christine Abrahams Gallery will assist in the pre-selection and awarding of the prize.
