REmida WA

REmida collects industrial discards from shops and factories around Perth, and makes these materials available to schools, childcare centres, artists and families. Come and visit us and see what we have to offer; come have a play or lend a hand, bring your kids!

We also run workshops and activities for schools and festivals using our materials, and run professional development workshops for teachers about how to use recycled materials in the classroom.

Our aim is to encourage children and adults to think creatively about waste materials, finding new ways of thinking about waste.

Yongan Yorgahs by Toogarr Morrison (Perth)

February 11, 2011 to March 5, 2011

The ‘Yongan Yorgahs’ exhibition is part of a set of new paintings by local indigenous artist and Bibbullmun elder Toogarr Morrison. This solo show recognises and celebrates the females of the Bibbullmun Nation of south west Western Australia and their role in society, both in the past and in the present. The vibrant style and imposing scale combines political with metaphysical and draws upon a number of traditions of painting. Gallery Central, 12 Aberdeen Street, Perth.
